Take the Quiz "Solar System: The Sun"
For this assignment we had to create a quiz based using an online quiz creator. The online quiz I used was quizyourfriends.com and it is on the facts of the Sun. Test your solar skills by clicking this link: http://www.quizyourfriends.com/take-quiz.php?id=1104290312575860&a=1& Good Luck!
b) Evaluation of the software you used.
The online quiz creator is a great site for integrating technology in the classroom for students to take online quizzes or tests. The format is very easy to use when creating the test and also easy for students to take.
c) How you plan to use this site into your future classroom.
I would use this to create online assessments for my students. Putting into consideration that there are not enough computers for everyone to take the test, I would have students take the tests after they complete in class assignments early. The students will be informed that they only have that day to take the test so that it is fair for all.
d) How will this application enhance you assignments?
This site will enhance the assignments by providing students a different way taking tests and away from the usual pen and paper. With the technological world we live in today, this is a great way of combining technology in the classroom.
Do You Know Your SUN? (RubiStar)
a) Description of the assignment.
For this assignment, we experimented with Rubi Star (http://rubistar.4teachers.org/) were tasked with creating a rubric for one of the two fact sheet links in the NMC course website.
b) Evaluation of the software you used.
This website is great for creating rubrics for any subject and all activity/project ideas you could imagine.
c) How you plan to use this site into your future classroom.
This is definitely a useful website that I do intend to use in my future classrooms for assessing my students performance. Now that PSS is slowly transitioning from letter grade assessment to standard based assessment, this website provides the perfect assessment tool with the touch of a button.
d) How will this application enhance you assignments?
This will make assessing my student's performance a lot easier because anything you would like to assess is already formatted into the website and defines each point value for rubrics.
Dream School Hierarchy (Bubbl.us)
a) Description of the assignment.
For this assignment, we experimented with Bubbl.us (https://bubbl.us/), which is an online graphic organizer (mind-mapping) that allows users to organize their thoughts or information online. Our task, as partners, was to create a hierarchy flow chart of our ideal dream school, which is what you see above.
b) Evaluation of the Software you used.
This website makes mind-mapping real simple and easy to use. It is a great tool to use for a graphic organizer that can be accessed online and the features offered make using the site enjoyable.
c) How you plan to use this site into your future classroom.
This website would be used to teach my students in a multiple of ways. For example, in Social Studies, this website will be used when we are learning about the government, they could demonstrate the process of our government, explaining how the government functions by identifying who is at the top and how roles are divided to serve the peoples needs. This website could also be integrated with Language Arts as it is a form of a graphic organizer.
d) How will this application enhance your assignments?
By catering to students skilled logically, linguistically, and technologically and for those who have a hard time organizing their thoughts, this website makes it easier for them to do so.
